Making the most of it

Yes, we are stuck in Dublin, Ireland. I know that it could be worse, right? We had learned a lot of the hard stuff yesterday. Like how to get into town and how you need exact change all in coins to get on the bus. So we easily found Christ Church again and this time got inside. It is a lovely Anglican-Episcopal church (not Catholic like so many we've seen in Europe). I loved the patchwork type floor that seemed to change at the whim of the tile layer. We were going to skip the crypt (there are so many dead people buried in these churches!) but when I asked about bathrooms they were down in the basement with the loved ones who had gone ahead! Even the walls of the bathroom stall were the stone of the church. The crypt "headstones" were elaborate statues that were really quite beautiful.

We also roamed around the city a bit more and got some more souvenirs before getting some food at a small grocery store and heading home to our hotel and relaxing before trying again tomorrow. It's almost 10pm and the sun is just going down. Weird.

Since I still have 10 min left of my internet time left, let me tell you how we almost got on the plane as it was getting ready to leave. Turns out there were 2 spots left. The couple ahead of us were going to get on but they had bags to check so they got rejected. I spoke up and said that we didn't have any to check and could get down there fast. Someone on the plane made the decision they couldn't wait for us. In the stress I didn't use the pouty face and say...but my daughter's on that plane! Oh well, guess it wasn't meant to be. 2 morals to the story...don't leave the gate until the plane has left...and pack light! Hoping this will be my last post before we are back in the states. Love to hear from everyone to know how things are going.
