Cathedral City

In the shadow of the famous Palm Springs lies the little town of Cathedral City. It has places to shop and eat, but it seems best known for this cool fountain at the center of town. Disregarding the chance of being sued, it allows kids of all ages to climb aboard and cool off. We had a truer sense of summer heat today when Sara, Laura and I went to a Flea Market at the College of the Desert. The heat really got to us even without the humidity. While there we found a cache big enough to leave my travel bug from home in. We also had a lovely lunch at a cafe complete with misters that kept us cool and happy. A hummingbird kept hovering in the mist much like the kids we had seen playing in the fountain.

The rest of the gang went to LA...still not home yet, so I will post about their trip tomorrow.
