Our home away from home...no really! This is where we spent the night. Welcome to Shack Up Inn, located in Clarksdale, MS. They are authentic homes from another era that retain their antique charm on the outside, but have modern conveniences inside. Nicknamed shotgun shacks (because if you open the front and back doors you can shoot a bullet straight through the house) each one is named to honor a blues musician from the area. Ours is a tribute to Pinetop Perkins who sadly just passed away in March. Though the inside has electricity, hot water and even wifi, its decor is backwoods hand-me-downs with stripes of fabric over the windows and concrete blocks holding up the beds.
