The New Yorker Hotel

Saying goodbye to this great hotel. It was such a great home base, with so much history. Built in the 30's with 2500 rooms it was the largest in NY at the time. It even has its own power plant in the basement. It closed in 1972 and stood empty for 20 years. Opened back up in the 90s and recently had a big facelift. But what I loved is that they only changed what they had to. So many of the past touches remain. And it's art deco, so that makes it even better. Hard to believe it's a Ramada!
