Reflecting

I was not at all prepared for how the visit to the 911 memorial would effect me. It gave me a new compassion for those who died and those they left behind. It seemed so disrespectful when people posed with their biggest smiles in front of the pools, like they were at Disney. But was does make me happy is the thought that has gone into the design. From giving the one surviving tree a place of honor, to the inclusion of every victim's name to the wonderful waterfalls marking ground zero (rather than building over it.) It was totally worth the visit.
