Oak Creek Canyon

Time to leave Sedona behind. The drive to Flagstaff is an attraction in itself. The Oak Canyon Scenic drive winds it's way up several thousand feet. The landscape quickly changes from dusty red rock to the lusher pine forests with grassy yellow floors and craggy peaks.We watched the outside temp drop steadily...feeling the change at each scenic overlook. This photo is the view at the end of the drive just before the road straightens out and dumps you right into the city of Flagstaff, elevation almost 7000 ft.
