Thur Sept 4
We had planned a day trip to Cordoba but time is flying by too quickly and instead we opted for a more stress free day. It started at a large produce market by the Triana bridge. The fresh fruits and vegetables that seem so lacking at the restaurants were abundant and beautiful here. Thi region is known for it cured ham. Many families have one of these leg portions hanging in their homes. (Not Megan) It does not need refrigeration so they just cut off slices as needed. The bottom photo was a poster I discovered when we were chilling at a bench in the market. I was doing my best to translate. I came up with "Meat of ___. Two times a week. It's a good habit." Then I looked up what kind of meat (conejo). And it hit me...they were pushing you to eat rabbits twice a week!
Next we wandered around the neighborhood a bit. This was close to where the kids were staying so we checked out their place.
We ate a place nearby. The food was very good but the server was a bit stern. We expected to hear "No tapas for you!"
We parted for siesta, agreeing to meet in Megan's neighborhood for dinner.
