This was one of the hikes we took. I knew that it was about a mile, but didn't realize it was mostly a steep uphill climb! I don't think of going uphill to see a lake. But this isn't Florida. We climbed a bit, then stopped a bit and made noise to scare away any bears. Finally we reached a rise and went a bit downhill and were rewarded with this view. So worth it. This is the biggest cairn I made on the trip.Trout Lake is in the Lamar Valley section of Yellowstone.
