Destination Memphis - Freedom Trail

I am leaving at the crack of dawn on Friday with a purchased ticket (woohoo no standby for me)! Sara on the other hand is grabbing a free ride from her present location in Kansas to meet me in Memphis. Fingers crossed. We should rendezvous at 10 am. Weather should be a bit chilly for me, but no doubt those I am leaving behind in Orlando will be jealous. High 60's.

Despite the crazy stops we may make, our trip does have a serious side. First stop in Memphis will be the Civil Rights Museum, located where Martin Luther King, Jr was shot in 1968. As we travel the roads on our journey that have seen both tragedy and triumph, we will be remembering the high price of freedom and the celebrating the success of a non-violent movement that eventually changed the course of our country. The book/movie The Help was a perfect catalyst to trigger our interest in this worthwhile study.
