They are Everywhere

I knew that Sedona = Red Rocks, but I didn't expect them to be everywhere. They surround the city and the city surrounds them. They loom in the distance in shades of red, brown and white. Each formation has meticulously "painted" lines that blend and contrast as the light plays on craggy edges. They are there smack dab behind the Safeway grocery store as you go in the automatic doors. You go over a rise and there's a whole new set of them with crazy names like Coffeepot Rock and Snoopy. And the most amazing thing is that half the population of Sedona doesn't even see them anymore. They are just there...like the Safeway or the Starbucks or the Home Depot. I must tell you though (since these mere photos cannot) that they are majestically lovely and definitely do not blend into the cityscape. They cannot be hidden.
