Success! We rebooked in Miami after missing our connection to Madrid. Our flight on British Air is taking us to Mallorca via London. Waiting to board the flight was a lesson in cultural differences. The pre-boarding for American Airlines in Orlando had been chaos. Disgruntled passengers not knowing where to queue to get answers and a huge number cluttering the entry door before the plane even arrived.
Not so with the Brits. No one was allowed to be in line to board until told. When some stragglers remained on the edge (thinking they could hop in line first no doubt) they were called out like rebellious children and made to sit down! I loved it.
Getting on the plane was like puddle-jumping to the UK. Proper, polite and accommodating. "We are so happy to have you aboard, madam!" I felt like the queen herself.
And WOW this process of needing a wheelchair does have its perks. Because of liability they insist on chauffering you around. No need to figure out the airport rail system to get to another terminal...it's like having a personal assistant!
